Here’s some things to think about when planning a man-cave.
Location
If you’re thinking there’s no room in your house for a man-cave, it’s time to get creative with your space. This is a chance for that weird outbuilding in your backyard or cement room in your basement to shine. Try to think about unused or under-utilized areas of your house and then imagine how they could be redesigned to fit your needs.
Features
Adding personal features to your man cave can be one of the best ways to make it feel YOURS. Here are a few ideas:
- Wet bar and kitchen
- Private bathroom
- A large, comfortable couch or recliner
- A big-screen TV
- A pool table or arcade game
- Unique wall art
- Comfortable chairs for guests
Go the Extra Mile
Taking things a step further by making some structural changes will solidify your man-cave as part of your forever home. A bookshelf would get the job done, sure, but shelving built into the wall creates the perfect spot for displaying your collection of movies, games, or sports memorabilia.
The same can be said about adding a bar area with a seating area, unique drinking solutions, sound system with large speakers, and many other things. This makes a place for your favorite beverages that is all yours and allows you to stop taking up family space in the kitchen.
